‘Prodigal Son’ Recap “Annihilator”
Meditation and medication only help for so long. Malcolm’s night terrors continue, as does his mother’s endless attempts to “help” him.
A quadruple homicide peaks Malcolm’s interest and Gil, of course, asks for his help. The family was tortured and poisoned- In the middle of the investigation, Martin calls. He wants to know the details of the murder as he believes he can help. What he can’t help with are the Black Mambas that slithered out of the father’s mouth. None the less, Martin is persistent.
The killer was so mad he destroyed a whole family. They look to the estranged son: a black market animal dealer with family troubles and access to snakes. Could Liam be our guy? Malcolm, refusing to stay put, gets bit by a snake (Liam threw it at him) and lands himself in the hospital. While there, Ainsley finds out he’s been talking to their dad.
Malcolm confronts his father about the girl in the box that supposedly doesn’t exist. Martin relentlessly helps Malcolm by says that the murders were done out of love. Meaning Liam didn’t do it because he wanted out of the family, not in.
Except annihilators usually take their own lives, Liam took the fall, 12 stories to his death. Could he have been pushed?
Jon Littman, the family lawyer is Aristas’ illegitimate son and the annihilator. Unfortunately, he poisoned himself and his family knowing the NYPD was on to him. Luckily, Dani had a medical kit in the car and all were revived.
Malcolm’s chloroform induced flashbacks lead me (and him) to believe the girl was real and that his mother knew about Martin’s “hobbies.” Ok, that last part was just me but still. This family is so intriguing. I can’t wait for next week!
