Remembering Cory Monteith with our Favorite Finn Hudson Performances

Cory Monteith’s last two tweets are sort of a perfect way to sum up who he was as a person. Funny, a bit ironic, and someone who had quite an impact. When news broke on July 13th, 2013 that he passed away, it was a shock to fans across the world.

Just hours earlier, he was tweeting about a Sharknado, and then his bright light was gone – at least, his presence was gone. The hows and the whys don’t mean much now, they didn’t mean much then – he’s not someone reduced to the moment that took his life, he’s much more than that.

Fans of Glee knew Cory Monteith first and foremost as Finn Hudson, the jock with a heart of gold. The one who joined the Glee Club and made it cool for everyone else to follow suit. He was tall, he was handsome, and he had some struggles. Those same attributes were also true in his personal life.

That’s neither here nor there, what we remember on the anniversary of his passing and always is the contribution his kindness had talent had on all of us who were, and always will be, massive fans of his.

This year, we’re commemorating Cory with a few of our favorite ‘Finn Hudson’ songs from Glee. His solo numbers, his moments singing with the group, and one of the songs in ‘The Quarterback’ which doesn’t have his voice, but was a dedication to who he was.

I’ll Stand By You

We’ve Got Tonight

Of course, we have to include the iconic ‘Don’t Stop Believing

Jesse’s Girl

The Scientist

Seasons Of Love was a dedication to Finn and to Cory, and it was one of the most beautiful songs in the show’s entirety.
