SDCC 2018: A Storm is Brewing at the ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ Panel
The cast of Fear the Walking dead took the stage at San Diego Comic-Con today to talk about that wild ride that was 4A and preview what’s to come in the back half. The season has already found a multitude of new characters hitting the scene, including Lennie James crossing over from The Walking Dead and on top of that the series killed off two of its original main characters in Kim Dickens’ Madison Clark and Frank Dillane’s Nick Clark.
In 4b the characters will be taking on an enemy, unlike anything we’ve ever seen on The Walking Dead – Mother Nature. If the newly released trailer is any indication, there’s a huge storm brewing, sending walkers flying through the air.
The panel kicked off on a lighter note though with a blooper reel that hopefully makes its way online at some point.
#FearTWD panel kicks off with the most hilarious bloopers ever. Lots of bleeping. ALL the bleeping. #SDCC

Robert Kirkman talked about his adoration for Morgan Jones as well as James’ performance.
“The character of Morgan has been such a huge part of #TWD series. I’ve been a huge fan of @RealLennieJames for many years. The character has lived so far beyond where I took him in the comic book series.” – @RobertKirkman #FearTWD #SDCC

Greg Nicotero talked about the pressures of doing a spinoff series for such a successful show like The Walking Dead.

Strand is apparently living his best life in the wine-cellar of the mansion he found.

When asked if Fear the Walking Dead will find more characters crossing over from The Walking Dead, Scott Gimple had an interesting response.
“It’s a shared universe. It’s possible. I would never tell you at this moment, but I really want to.” — Gimple on whether or not there will be more #TWD / #FearTWD crossover.
— Lauren Cox (@Iaurencox) July 20, 2018
According to Gimple, the timelines between #TWD and #FearTWD are “leap frogging” and therefore the shows have a “limited” time together. Something to keep in mind. #SDCC

Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
