SDCC 2019: ‘Batman Beyond’ Getting Remastered in HD

In 2019, Batman Beyond came out 20 years ago. Now that San Diego Comic-Con is around, there is no reason not to celebrate this anniversary. The panel for the animated series had a great line-up. Producers, Bruce Timm and Glen Murakami, came on stage. The casting directors James Tucker, and Andrea Romano were there. Writers Bob Goodman and Stan Berkowitz, and later joined by Kevin Conroy, who voiced Batman, and Will Friedle, who voiced Terry McGinnis. This panel was already incredible from the beginning!

For its 20th birthday, Batman Beyond is getting a remastered box-set. There is a catch, though; the box-set will be a part of a limited edition. The box-set will contain all 52 episodes with multiple bonus features. Forty-one episodes will get the remastered treatment and 11 in the original state. Although not all episodes will get remastered, the POP! vinyl figure that comes with the box-set should make up for it. The box-set will contain 6 discs, of which 4 are from Batman Beyond, and the other 2 discs contain bonus content including a remastered version of Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker.

The box-set is coming earlier than you would expect, as they will get released digitally on October 15, while the Blu-ray and DVD version will get released on October 29. If you can’t wait that long to rewatch the series, you can watch it on the DC Universe streaming service on August 23!

For now, IGN got an exclusive look at how the remastered episodes would look digitally, on Blu-ray and DVD with a side-by-side comparison of the series.
