SDCC: Sophie Turner Says Sansa and Jon Snow Need to “Stop Fighting for Ultimate Power”

HBO’s Game of Thrones has been one of the highlights of San Diego Comic-Con so far. The hit series kicked off the convention on Wednesday’s preview night with the Game of Thrones: Winter is Here immersive environment.  Fans of the show were able to take a journey into Westeros and experience different lands along the way while partaking in the creation of awesome shareable content.

During the Game of Thrones panel today, which was moderated by none other than Kristian Nairn (Hodor), fans got to see a brand new teaser trailer which dishes some new dirt on what’s still to come throughout the rest of season 7 which just premiered last Sunday.  Afterward, the cast in attendance which included Alfie Allen (Theon Greyjoy), Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm), John Bradley (Samwell Tarly), Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Tarth), Liam Cunningham (Ser Davos Seaworth), Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei), Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran Stark), Conleth Hill (Varys) and Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) dished on the series.

Sophie Turner turned some heads when she surprisingly revealed that she wished Joffrey was still alive on the show! Don’t worry though. It wasn’t because she loved his character but because she loved working with Jack Gleeson so much. He was a perfect portrayal of the evil King Joffrey.

Turner also revealed that she has some strong thoughts on the relationship between her character, Sansa Stark and Jon Snow (played by Kit Harington).  Fans may have noticed in the season premiere that there was a bit of friction between the two.  It appeared that they were almost working against each other rather than were working with each other towards their common goal.  At one point, Jon even accused Sansa of idolizing Cersei Lannister!  This is more than just your typical brother vs. sister type arguments and, as a result, there could be lives at stake if these two don’t pull it together.

In regards to their relationship, Turner said, “he’s the military man, she’s the politician. They need to realize they need to stop fighting for ultimate power and start working together.”‬

Truer words were never spoken!  Hopefully, in this Sunday’s episode, we see Sansa and Jon coming together!
