*Spoiler Alert for those who read Batman Comics*
The Dark Knight and Catwoman are gettin’ hitched! A wedding is happening! But wait…things may not go as everyone is expecting.
The Cat and the Bat were arranged to tie the knot on July 4th in Batman issue #50, but The New York Times has now confirmed that things are going to take a sad-even if you’re Batman.
The ceremony wasn’t going to be large-quite quaint for two of the biggest superheroes in the DC universe, Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle. It was set to take place at the top of Finger Tower, a beautiful skyscraper towering over Gotham City, at 6 a.m. It was a wedding comic fans have anticipated since 1940 when the book was released.
I bet you’ve guessed what’s going down by now. Somebody has cold feet. In issue 50, drawn by Mike Janin and written by Tom King, a turn of events may surprise fans, when Selina Kyle decides to not go ahead with the marriage. Her reasoning for this decision is that he would not be able to continue doing his best job at protecting the city if he were worried about being a good husband. That may or may not be true, but the bottom line is, the Cat and The Bat will not be saying any vows on July 4th-and potentially maybe ever.
Other story lines included in the comic add Superman and Lois Lane, Batpoint, and Joker’s introduction. Joker recently had found out about the wedding and was determined to be there because of his twisted desires. Bruce Wayne initially proposed to Selina in issue #24.
Be sure to pick up issue #50 on July 4th to find out all the drama that goes down during a ceremony just not meant to be.
