Singer/Songwriter Shania Twain is Releasing Her First New Album in 15 Years
Country musician Shania Twain dominated the music scene back in the early 2000’s. It seemed she released smash hit after smash hit with country (and even pop crossover) songs such as Man, I Feel Like a Woman, Don’t Impress Me Much, You’re Still The One and, perhaps her most well known hit turned wedding first dance favorite, From This Moment.
Though she has been recently touring (yours truly was lucky enough to be 4th row at one of her shows in 2015), Twain had not released any new music since her 2002 album, Up!. Fans have been speculating for YEARS that new music from the singer was on the horizon only to be let down, year after year, with no official announcement and now new albums.
Just last week, however, all that speculation came to an end. After a long and grueling 15 year wait, the singer and songwriter has officially announced that brand new music, and a full album, are both on the way, this year! Country music fans, rejoice!! Twain, herself, made the announcement on NBC’s The Voice on which she was appearing as a guest judge and key advisor to the show’s contestants.
In addition to the new album announcement, Twain also debuted a new single this weekend at StageCoach Festival in Idaho. The name of her new single is Life’s About to Get Good and, in a statement, the singer explained her inspiration for the new tune:
“I was at home looking out at the ocean and I said to myself, ‘Here I am stuck in this past of negativity, but it’s so beautiful out. I’m not in the mood to write a ‘feeling-sorry-for-myself’ song…. You can’t have the good without the bad. And that’s what the song ended up being about.”
