‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ Gets an Official Logo

We are just under a year away from Spider-Man: Far From Home, and while details are scarce, the official logo for the film has been released. When the highly anticipated sequel was revealed to be Far From Home, we thought that it was the perfect title. Not only did it tie into its predecessor Homecoming, but it also could play into Infinity War and a new mindset for Peter Parker. So, as Peter graduates from one film to the other, it only makes sense that the logo change as well. Spider-Man: Homecoming’s logo featured a more playful look with a curved font on a blue background.

Unveiled today on Far From Home’s official Facebook page, the new logo has a much darker feel to it. It no longer features the curved “Spider-Man” and the yellow and red colors have been flipped. Of course, once again the signature Spidey symbol has taken up shop in the “O” of the subtitle.

It certainly hints towards a more ominous story, which wouldn’t be too surprising seeing as Peter fell victim to Thanos’ snap that wiped out half of humanity in Infinity War. There’s no way he’s going to come back from that the same way and this logo when compared to Homecoming’s hints towards that kind of narrative. Not surprisingly, everyone’s favorite web-slinger and Marvel movie spoiler Tom Holland actually gave us a look at an early version the logo back in June when he “accidentally” revealed the film’s title.

Thanks to social media and Kevin Feige we’ve been able to piece together some tidbits about what to expect from Far From Home. We know that Peter and friends will be traveling to London for a decathlon, we know that Samuel L. Jackson’s Fury may be involved, and Jake Gyllenhaal is rumored to be playing popular villain Mysterio. J.B. Smoove and Numan Acar have also joined the cast in mystery roles.

[row]We film in London. We shot the first film in Atlanta. And we shoot a lot of films in London but there’s another reason we’re shooting in London which is, yes, Spidey, of course, will spend some time in New York, but he’ll spend some time in other parts of the globe” Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige confirmed to i09.[/row]

Spider-Man: Far From Home will of course star Tom Holland as Peter Parker, in addition to Zendaya,  Jacob Batalon, Michael Bolton, and Marisa Tomei who will all be reprising their Homecoming roles.

The film is swinging into theaters on July 5, 2019.
