If things have been quiet on the Avenger 4 spoilers front it’s most likely because Tom Holland, Marvel’s resident spoiler, has been busy filming his upcoming Spider-Man sequel Far From Home all over the globe. Well, as of yesterday the film has officially wrapped filming, which means that Holland will be free to “accidentally” drop spoilers left and right, relieving Mark Ruffalo from his duties!
Holland celebrated the wrap with a couple of photos on social media, which included some fresh looks at Peter’s all-new suit for the follow-up. The first photo he shared was posted “halfway through our last day” and found Spider-Man mid-stunt. You can’t see too much of the new suit, but he’s definitely not rocking the Iron Spider get-up that he wore in Infinity War.
The second photo features Holland and Zendaya, who is reprising her role as Michelle/MJ in the film, with the caption “That’s a WRAP”. You can get a much better look at the suit in this photo, with the biggest difference being that the blue is much darker than what Peter was donning in Homecoming.
While a lot has been kept under wraps about the highly anticipated sequel, we do know that Peter and friends will be traveling to London for a decathlon and that Jake Gyllenhaal is will be playing popular villain Quentin Beck/Mysterio. Marco Polo alum Remy Hill, J.B. Smoove, and Numan Acar have also joined the cast in mystery roles. Recurring Marvel players Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) will also be appearing in the film despite both falling victims to Thanos’ snap in the Infinity War post-credit scene.
In addition to Holland and Zendaya, Spider-Man: Far From Home will find Jacob Batalon, Michael Bolton, and Marisa Tomei all be reprising their Homecoming roles.
Spider-Man: Far From Home will be hitting theaters July 5, 2019.
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
