‘The Big Bang Theory’ Recap “The Bow Tie Asymmetry”
The big day is here and everyone has a job to do, kind of like the Fellowship or The Avengers.
The family is in town, let the circus begin! Missy is pregnant, Mary is praying and Amy’s mother is even more overbearing than I imagined. I’m with Penny on this, we’re gonna need wine.
Howard found a dog in the backyard, it’s Mark Hamill’s. Howard fan girls before giving the dog back. As a reward, Mark Hamill agrees to officiate the ShAmy wedding (sorry Wil Wheaton).
Sheldon looks dashing in his suit and Amy is radiant in her dress. Sheldon is unusually calm, aside from the fact that he’s having issues with his bow tie. He settles on an asymmetric bowtie and has a scientific breakthrough in the process. He steals Amy’s lipstick and delays the wedding to solve the super asymmetry. No worries, though, Mark Hamill stalls by answering Star Wars questions. Amy’s mother immediately thinks that Sheldon stood her up, Penny yells at her to sit down before getting the happy couple.
The ceremony was beautiful and their vows were adorably sweet and I’m not going to lie, I teared up.
I have been waiting for this episode for so long. Everything about this episode was beautiful, the quirkiness, the family dynamic, even the geeky references were amazing. It was really sweet of Sheldon to not only include Amy in his breakthrough but to pause the science to get married. Mark and Bark Hamill stole the show, though. He was funny and I loved seeing how salty Wil got over being replaced. This was a very satisfying season finale and I can’t wait to see what married life brings them.
