‘The Big Bang Theory’ Recap “The Matrimonial Metric”

Amy hasn’t picked a maid of honor yet, she’s torn between Penny and Bernadette. She doesn’t want to talk about it because it’s awkward.

Everyone is baby proofing Howard and Bernadette’s house and of course, the topic comes up. To make matters worse, Bernie has been gathering wedding ideas while she’s on bedrest.

They decide to mathematically measure the qualifications of their friends to decide who would be best suited as their maid of honor and best man. Plus he doesn’t want his brother, Georgie to be his best man. To test their friends, Amy and Sheldon take scenarios from life and keep score based on how they respond.

The tests include fetching items, catering crises, the possibility of cold feet, seating charts etc. Raj, Howard, Leonard, and Penny find out about the test and they are so upset that they refuse to be in their wedding.

Sheldon confides in Stuart who offers to be his best man. The bachelor party will be at Costco.

Sheldon apologizes and finally chooses Leonard as his best man. Penny, realizing that Amy is her best friend, tells her that she will be her maid of honor.

Welcome back! This episode was a wonderful way to open the second half of the season. Science wasn’t on their side the last time they tried it, but Sheldon and Amy found a way to make this time work. I kind of figured that Leonard and Penny would be maid of honor and best man but this episode really brought out how close the group is.
