The Cranberries Lead Singer Dolores O’Riordan Dies Suddenly at Age 46
The Cranberries lead singer and songwriter Dolores O’Riordan has died suddenly on Monday at the age of 46. At this time, no additional details are known surrounding her passing.
Her publicist released a statement on Monday which said the following:
“Irish and international singer Dolores O’Riordan has died suddenly in London today. She was 46 years old. The lead singer with the Irish band The Cranberries, was in London for a short recording session. No further details are available at this time.”
A message was also posted to the band’s social media pages:
O’Riordan and The Cranberries first started making music together in 1990. The band released five critically-acclaimed albums and garnered worldwide success with their original sound. They were made famous for such hits as Linger and their smash-hit Zombie which went 7 times platinum in the United States and sold 17 million copies worldwide.
O’Riordan is survived by her three children: Taylor Baxter, Molly Leigh, and Dakota Rain.
