‘The Flash’ Season 4 Recap: Flash vs. The Thinker

The Flash Season 4 Recap: Flash vs. The Thinker

Previously on The Flash

Team Flash faced off against their first non-speedster season antagonist, The Thinker. A man granted incredible mental capabilities during the particle accelerator explosion, Clifford DeVoe sought to bring about the Enlightenment, believing that humanity’s intelligence was waning due to the increase in technology. DeVoe orchestrated the creation of several new metahumans who would help him achieve his goal, one of which was Ralph Dibny, aka the Elongated Man. In the end, Barry was able to win the day through human emotion and love, but DeVoe had a back-up plan. As his satellites fell from the sky, Barry sped off to make the debris smaller, which would hopefully cause less damage to Central City. If not for the help of a mysterious speedster, Barry wouldn’t have been able to pull it off. Turns out the mysterious speedster is Barry and Iris’ daughter from the future, Nora.

Season 4 found Barry and Iris finally tying the knot, but their life is going to be turned upside-down moving forward as they deal with the idea of starting a family. They’ve only been married a couple of months, and may not have been thinking of having children yet, but now they will be thrust into a situation of having a daughter. One who believes that she’s made a terrible mistake and could potentially wreck the future. Joe and Cecile are in a similar situation as they have just had a child of their own. Though both have been successful in raising children in the past, they both have their reservations about doing so this late in life.

During a fight with Thinker, Caitlin’s “connection” to Killer Frost was closed off. At first, she believed that her frosty abilities were stolen from her, but she came to realize that they have been pushed deep down inside. Caitlin has Cisco vibe her to an event in which she was in an accident. When the young Caitlin looked in the mirror of her bike, she has become Killer Frost. This means that she didn’t get her powers in the particle accelerator explosion. This posed the question of if she knows the truth about her father’s death.
