‘The Good Doctor’ Cast is Back in Action at the First Season 2 Table Read
Can you feel that, Good Doctor fans? That’s the feeling of season 2 production officially kicking off and it feels glorious!
Over the past several days, the cast and crew have been making their ways back to Vancouver, British Columbia, and today we got our first look at everyone back together again.
Executive producer Sebastian Lee shared a sneak peek of the production office before the entire cast arrived. In his composite post on Instagram, Lee shared three pictures of the office – one peering into the room revealing a wall full of cast headshots, one showing the writers’ and executive producers’ plaques just outside the door and the last photo showing the first completed script written by series star Freddie Highmore. In addition to Lee’s post, executive producer Daniel Dae Kim also kicked off season 2 by sharing a brief video of the first table read with the full cast in attendance. As Kim pans around the room, you’ll notice some familiar and surprising faces – most notable Chuku Modu who plays Jared Kalu on the series. News broke back in April that Modu was leaving the series, however, this Good Doctor fan is super happy to see him around, even if it’s just for one episode. Check out Kim’s post below:
So far, we know that season 2 of the series will focus on Dr. Shaun Murphy’s (Highmore) challenges at the hospital, as well as on his relationship with his love interest (and returning fan favorite character) Lea (played by Paige Spara). Freddie Highmore has confirmed, however, that Shaun’s relationship with Dr. Aaron Glassman (played by Richard Schiff) is really the heart of the season two storyline.
In addition to Highmore, Schiff, and Spara, The Good Doctor also stars Antonia Thomas, Nicholas Gonzalez, Beau Garrett, Hill Harper, Will Yun Lee, Fiona Gubelmann, and Christina Chang. Lisa Edelstein (House) was recently announced in a recurring role for the second season. The series was created by David Shore who also serves executive producer along with Kim and Lee.
The Good Doctor returns to ABC Monday nights this fall.
