The Kingdom and Hilltop Will Lead the Way on Sunday’s ‘Talking Dead’

I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to get back to the Kingdom on The Walking Dead. This past week’s episode did a great job of setting up Alpha and The Whisperers, but all of Henry’s talk about Carol had me really missing her! Well, it looks as though the zombie drama will be heading to The Kingdom to catch up with Carol, Ezekiel, and Jerry on this Sunday’s episode when “a supply run turns into a dangerous quest.” Since they haven’t been clued in yet on The Whisperers, we don’t have a very good feeling about this.

Anxiety aside, spending time at The Kingdom means that we get to see some of our favorites on the Talking Dead couch after the episode. Following immediately after “Bounty” the apocalypse’s #1 bromance duo Khary Payton and Cooper Andrews will help break down the episode alongside host Chris Hardwick. Even better? They will be joined by Alanna Masterson, whose character Tara is gearing up for a huge episode, following a confrontation with Alpha at the Hilltop’s gates.

While Talking Dead often has at least one Walking Dead star on the couch amongst celebrity fans, the back half of season 9 has found all three guests to be heavily integrated with the Walking Dead universe. The midseason premiere found Norman Reedus, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Greg Nicotero all breaking down the episode and last week gave the ladies’ their time to shine when Eleanor Matsuura, Nadia Hilker, and Gale Anne Hurd all appeared.

The official synopsis for Sunday’s episode, which is titled “Bounty” says that “the savage group led by Alpha confronts the Hilltop in a harrowing attempt to retrieve her daughter; a supply run for the Kingdom turns into a dangerous quest.

Talking Dead will premiere immediately after The Walking Dead, which airs Sundays on AMC at 9/8c!
