The New ‘Lego Movie 2’ Trailer Proves That Everything is More Awesome in Space!

It’s the season that just keeps on giving as Warner Bros. Studios have just dropped a new international trailer for The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part on the film’s UK Twitter page.

The sequel to the 2014 box office smash follows everyone’s favorite Master Builder Emmett (Chris Pratt), who has to save the day once more when evil DUPLO figures kidnap Lucy and the rest of the gang. Joining Emmett as he journeys into space is Rex Dangervest, the ultimate cool dude who is also voiced by Pratt, in a spoof of Pratt’s Jurassic World and Guardians of the Galaxy characters. You can check out both characters and the raptor space crew in the trailer below – and fear not, it looks as though all of your other favorites like Princess Unikitty and Batman will all be back in action. Enjoy!

Here is the official synopsis for the film:

[row]The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part reunites the heroes of Bricksburg in an all-new action-packed adventure to save their beloved city. It’s been five years since everything was awesome and the citizens are facing a huge new threat: LEGO DUPLO invaders from outer space, wrecking everything faster than they can rebuild. The battle to defeat them and restore harmony to the LEGO universe will take Emmet, Lucy, Batman, and their friends to far away, unexplored worlds, including a strange galaxy where everything is a musical. It will test their courage, creativity and Master Building skills, and reveal just how special they really are.[/row]

Reprising their fan-favorite characters from The LEGO Movie are Chris Pratt as Emmet, Elizabeth Banks as Lucy (aka Wyldstyle), Will Arnett as LEGO Batman, Nick Offerman as Metal Beard, and Alison Brie as Unikitty.  They are joined by Tiffany Haddish, Stephanie Beatriz, and Arturo Castro as new characters Queen Watevra Wa-Nabi, Sweet Mayhem, and Ice Cream Cone.

The film is being produced by Dan Lin, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Roy Lee, the team behind the LEGO film franchise since The LEGO Movie debuted in 2014.

Based on this new trailer, we think it’s safe to say that everything is about to get a lot more awesome. Let us know what you thought of the trailer and which character you’re most looking forward to! The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part opens nationwide in the US in 2D and 3D on Friday, February 8, 2019.
