‘The Rise of Skywalker’ Trailer Is Here!

D23 gave us an avalanche of exciting news. New Marvel projects, cast announcements, a load of first looks and an Obi-Wan series. However, there was one thing that many fans were waiting for: A trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Well, it is finally here and oh boy does it look special.

The Special Look was released via Lucasfilm and featured a montage of the entire Star Wars Sage, starting with A New Hope and going all the way to The Last Jedi. To close the video, fans received a 1 minute look at the final installment.

For such a short trailer there is quite a lot to digest.

I will just take a moment to point out a few of my favourite shots. For me, one of the highlights came from the reveal of what looks to be an armada of Star Destroyers- Maybe “armada” isn’t the right term…  Take a look and you’ll see what I mean.

Now, the most talked about moment comes at the end. We get a stunning look at a Dark Side Rey who is wielding a folding double-bladed lightsaber… which is, of course, glowing red.

Let the speculation begin! As a massive fan of Star Wars, I thought I would chip in. I think this could be a clone of Rey that is being controlled by Palpatine. If Palpatine does return as a force ghost, then it could be possible for his spirit to inhabit an empty vessel.

Some people have talked about a vision and that is indeed possible. However, I’m inclined to believe that if you give a character a double-bladed lightsaber, they have to use it. This also leads me to believe that we will get a 2 v 1 fight- very reminiscent of The Phantom Menace.
