'The Walking Dead' has a Hilarious Response to the Walker Problems on 'Game of Thrones'

The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones are two of the hottest shows on television right now and they have one glaring thing in common – Walkers!

Sure, the two series are set in completely different universes with completely different premises but both deal with herds of reanimated dead.  Whether they are called walkers, biters, geeks or white walkers our favorite characters on both of these series are threatened by these undead armies.

Earlier this season, on Game of Thrones, Tyrion Lannister (played by Peter Dinklage) made an unmistakable reference to the other Walker series, The Walking Dead.  During episode 3, The Queen’s Justice, Jon Snow and Tyrion were chatting after the King in the North had met with Daenerys.  Dany wasn’t exactly convinced that Jon Snow was telling the truth when he began speaking about the Night King and the Army of the Dead.  As he and Tyrion discussed this further, the conversation went a little something like this:

Fandoms completely lost it when Tyrion said, “walking dead men!”  As if that wasn’t awesome enough, fast forward three more episodes to this past Sunday’s Beyond the Wall when the White Walkers and the Army of the Dead claimed the life of one of Daenerys’ beloved dragons, Viserion.  They did so by completing a perfectly aimed Olympic-like javelin throw of a spear directly into the side of the poor dragon.  The flying beast fell from the sky and into the icy river below.

Based on their ability to use spears while staging seemingly planned attacks, it would appear that the Game of Thrones walkers may be a little more sophisticated than The Walking Dead walkers and, we’re not the only ones who have noticed this.  The official twitter account of Skybound’s The Walking Dead noticed as well.  In fact, they took to Twitter to comment on the episode and the sophisticated differences between the two walker types.  The Walking Dead said, “The zombie apocalypse is tough, but at least our walkers don’t know how to use spears.”

The fans LOVED the reference and responded with some pretty funny and amusing tweets as well.  Check out some of our favorite responses below:

Congrats to The Walking Dead for bringing some witty humor to an absolutely devastating episode of Game of Thrones.  But buckle up folks, because this Sunday is the season finale and it’s sure to be a doozy!  The Game of Thrones season finale will air on Sunday night at 9 pm EST on HBO.  The Walking Dead will return on Sunday nights on October 22nd at 9 pm on AMC.

Which walker do you think is more deadly, The Walking Dead walkers or Game of Thrones’ white walkers?  Tell us your thoughts in the comment section below!
