The Walking Dead: Season 10 Finale Plot Details from Showrunner

The Walking Dead Season 10 finale has yet to air and fans are clamoring for any news on both the season finale but also details on Season 11.  Showrunner, Angela Kang, appeared on AMC’s Friday Night in With the Morgans, this past Friday, and shared some of what fans could expect.

Kang talked about the major points of the Season 10 finale, including the major factions that remain with Beta (Ryan Hurst) and the Whisperers versus our scattered survivors.

“Obviously, we’ve got this new power group of four with Princess and Ezekiel and Eugene and Yumiko who are off on the road,” Kang told co-host Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays Negan on The Walking Dead. “We’re going to see some interesting turns in that.”

Kang also provided an update on of the Whisperers. “Now that Alpha’s gone and Beta is having to step up into that leadership role with his kind of half Alpha/Beta face, we’re going to see our people take their stand against Beta and the Whisperers,” she explained.

“There’s some pretty cool things going on with Negan,” Kang added.

“We’ve got Carol (Meslissa McBride) kind of in her quest for redemption. We’ve got some awesome stuff with Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam). We know that we’re waiting for the return of Maggie (Lauren Cohan),” she continued. “Daryl (Norman Reedus) has got some awesome business going on. It’s the whole cast. Everybody’s great.”

The Walking Dead will make its 11th San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) appearance with a panel spotlighting the season 10 finale episode, “A Certain Doom.” A source confirms that the date will be announced during the panel, much like in past years when the airing date for new seasons has been announced.

It is also expected that it will be announced that the episode will be longer than its original running time.  Given the opportunity for additional time to edit and prepare the episode, fans should expect a more expanded Walking Dead finale than in years past.

The episode will air as a standalone episode later this year. Moderated by Chris Hardwick (Talking Dead), the panel will feature TWDU Chief Content Officer Scott M. Gimple, Showrunner and Executive Producer Angela Kang, Executive Producer Greg Nicotero, who directed the season finale, and cast members Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Lauren Cohan, Josh McDermitt, Ross Marquand and Paola Lazaro, among others.
