The Walking Dead: Watch Norman Reedus on Last Night’s Jimmy Kimmel Discuss Finale & New Spinoff

Last night, Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl Dixon on The Walking Dead, appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to discuss the upcoming Season 10 Special Event (Finale) on October 4 and his new Daryl and Carol spinoff with Melissa McBride.

Kimmel asked Reedus about the new spinoff and what viewers can expect. “It’s a different type of show,”Reedus explained, vaguely. “It’ll be completely different.”

Could it be a comedy sitcom, suggested Kimmel. “It would be funny, I think [if it was a sitcom], to have these two characters explain to the world who they are… That could be funny,” Reedus agreed.

Daryl and Carol have been the two longest-tenured characters now on The Walking Dead.  The two have long been shipped by viewers to have a romantic relationship but that’s never come to fruition.  Instead, the two share the closest friendship on the show and rely on each other heavily now that other leaders on the show like Rick and Michonne have departed.

“I love the way these characters interact and relate to each other on so many levels and can’t wait to see where their ride goes from here,” Reedus said in a previous statement.

Also in the same statement, Melissa McBride added, “There is… a rather mysterious aspect to their fondness for one another that I enjoy, and their playfulness when the world permits. I’m very curious! Angela [Kang] has a way of shaking things up in great and unexpected ways. She’s like a kid playing with the dimmer switch! I’m very excited!”

The Walking Dead heads into a final 30 episodes once this Season 10 Special Event airs on October 4.  The show will air six episodes in early 2021 that are expected to focus on Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and where she was while she was away from our main group.  It is also expected to introduce the community and the characters in the community where Maggie had been living.

  1. I really loved The Walking Dead and hope very much that the new show brings us the excitement entertainment, tears and fears that The Walking Dead has brought us. God bless the cast.

  2. I can’t wait to see where all of this takes us. The Walking Dead has been my favorite show for years I am totally obsessed with it and it breaks my heart to know it standing but at the same time I am looking forward to seeing a spectacular finale. And I can’t wait to see the spin off with Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride.

  3. I have been a big fan of The Walking Dead from the very beginning and I am totally obsessed. I’m really sad that it’s going to end but at the same time I can’t wait to see where this is all gonna take us and I am also looking forward to the spin off with Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride.

  4. Nope and not excited about the other shows based on characters. Feel the actors on the show who have worked so hard to make it the best show got a bad deal with ending the show this abruptly and i feel their characters and storylines will be rushed and ruined trying to get this show to the finale. I Was wanting TWD to make it 20 seasons like we were told. Never have heard much about the Rick Grimes so called movies that was suppose to be made the reason he left the show and what kind of show could be made from just Carol and darryl when it’s been 10 seasons and not even a kiss has happened. I mean yeah they have shared some moments but I feel not enough for them to carry a show on their own. I mean kinda over that too you made the fans wait to long for what?
