Everyone’s favorite decade defying couple is back and ready to make you swoon some more! This Is Us is currently in the process of filming season 3, and while Milo Ventimiglia shared a quick behind-the-scenes shot of him as young Jack, the official This Is Us Twitter account is giving us a quick glimpse at young Jack (Ventimiglia) and Rebecca (Mandy Moore) on what is possibly their first date! Judging by Moore’s longer locks, this definitely looks to be a photo of the earlier days of Jack and Rebecca, which will be a welcomed storyline comes season 3. Season 1 of This Is Us heavily followed a tough chapter during Jack and Rebecca’s marriage where he was turning back to alcohol as she struggled to balance her dream to become a singer and being there for her family. Then season 2 revolved a lot around Jack’s death and how it affected the family, which was a truly devastating chapter of their lives to watch unfold, so it will be refreshing to watch the beginning of their relationship, which according to Dan Fogelman is what 3×01 will focus on.
Despite their challenges, watching Jack and Rebecca’s relationship has been one of the biggest joys of This Is Us. They are the definition of #relationshipgoals, consistently lifting each other up and pulling out all of the big romantic gestures. Diving into how they first met and watching those sparks fly will be a real treat for viewers! Of course, on top of the blooming relationship between Jack and Rebecca, season 3 will also focus on those flash-forwards fans were treated two in the season 2 finale as well as a Miguel centric episode.
This Is Us Season 3 premieres on Tuesday, September 25, at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
