‘This Is Us’ Unveils Stunning Season 3 Pearson Family Photo
Now that it’s officially September it’s totally acceptable to begin the transition from Summer mode to Fall and what better way to do that than celebrating our favorite returning series – This Is Us! The tear-inducing family drama technically doesn’t return until the 25th, but NBC has given us our first promo art for season three and not only is it giving us all of the warm and fuzzy Fall feels, but it is absolutely gorgeous. Shot by renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz, the photo shows all of your favorite Pearson’s together. Check it out below!
The photo features the uber-talented adult cast including Milo Ventimiglia, Mandy Moore, Sterling K. Brown, Justin Hartley, Chrissy Metz, Susah Kelechi Watson and Chris Sullivan. The Pearson crew certainly has quite the season ahead of them as the series heads back to Jack’s days in Vietnam and the relationship he shared with his brother, who will be played by Michael Angarano. As we saw in the season 2 finale, Kevin will be the Pearson most intertwined with this story as he heads on the heartbreaking journey to Vietnam with Beth’s cousin Zoe.
Newlyweds Kate and Toby will also be facing their own demons. Fresh off the gut-wrenching season that found the pair suffering a miscarriage, the season 2 finale featured a flash forward hinting that Toby’s depression would soon return. The season will dive into Toby’s story with an episode detailing his backstory before he met Kate.
Randall and Beth will still be taking care of Deja (Lyric Ross was just promoted to series regular) and the season will be laying the groundwork for that game-changing flashforward last season that found old Randall and old Tess talking about going to visit “her” which sent fans into a tailspin. Also, more William!
Lastly, everyone’s favorite couple Jack and Rebecca are going to be taking a trip down memory lane as the season plans to dive into the early days of their relationship, which frankly is a much-needed reprieve from the heartbreaking season the pair faced last year.
[row]“Our first episode back is our past storyline, which is basically the first date, the first night following their meeting that Jack and Rebecca ever have together. We’re really into early, early Jack and Rebecca incarnations, origin story, and then we’re doing stuff with Vietnam,” series creator Dan Fogelman told Variety.[/row]
What do you think of the new photo? Are you ready to reunite with the Pearson family?
This Is Us Season 3 premieres on Tuesday, September 25, at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
