Three ‘The Walking Dead’ Movies We Want To See Happen

The fandom of The Walking Dead received word this weekend that a Rick Grimes movie was in coming to theaters.  With this news, we couldn’t help but think of what other Walking Dead movies we’re dying to see!  The most exciting part of the world of The Walking Dead isn’t necessarily the future, it’s the past!  Here are three The Walking Dead movies we want to see happen on the big or small screen.

Abraham, Eugene, and Rosita

The arrival of the trio of Abraham (Michael Cudlitz), Eugene (Josh McDermitt), and Rosita (Christian Serratos) in The Walking Dead season four was one of the most exciting and anticipated of any set of characters in The Walking Dead universe. What we know is that at some point the three joined forces after Abraham lost his family, met Eugene (who claimed he knew how to solve the zombie outbreak crisis), and Abraham and Rosita had a “thing”.  However, there are some huge holes that we all want to be filled! We do know that Abraham and Eugene met, and were interviewed by, Althea (Maggie Grace’s character on Fear The Walking Dead).  A story of travel from Texas towards Alexandria and Washington D.C. would be incredible to watch!

Here’s Negan

Robert Kirkman wrote a separate series on everyone’s favorite villain entitled Here’s Negan.  This was a 16 issue mini-series telling the backstory of Negan, written in 2016.  Like most characters in the world of The Walking Dead, we have some understanding of their backstory but very few have received any on-screen episodes explaining or showing much information.  Here’s Negan provides the most insight of all of Robert Kirkman’s characters, which would make for an amazing feature film.  Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who portrays Negan on the show, is a movie star in his own right.  The combination of a great story, great character, and an actor who embodies the character so well sets up for one excellent film!

Daryl

Norman Reedus.  A bike.  A solo mission to go pick up something.  And a dog.  And he shoots stuff.  Why not?

Bonus Film:  Dale: Zombie Hunter

Gone too soon, Dale departed in The Walking Dead’s season two, but he imparted upon us all such wisdom and dirty looks.  Imagine a film that follows Dale Horvath (Jeffrey DeMunn) in the days following the fall of civilization to the zombie apocalypse.  The film would focus on all of the people he would pack into his RV along his way to the quarry that we see in Season One of The Walking Dead.  In the way of all great movies in the 2000s, the film would focus on a young group of teens that took a wrong turn on the way to a cabin by a lake with Dale taking in the group, only to find out that they have the worst luck ever in outrunning zombies.  Dale, as the senior member of the group and baffled by their continued poor choices in where to hide, run, and complete lack of awareness of sharp objects defends the group against zombies until, unfortunately, he’s the last one standing.

What other films are you hoping to see? Which backstories would you love to learn more about?  Share in the comments!
