On August 25, my hero Tim Burton celebrated his 60th birthday. For his 60th he’s celebrating big as he is making props from his famous movies available to the public. Prop Store will be auctioning his famous movie props next month in the UK.
Amongst the list of things that will go up for sale, is Johnny Depp‘s Edward Scissorhands costume. If you have a spare £60,000 – 80,000 ($77,572 – 103,430), then this costume can be all yours.
A bronze Joker statue of the 1989 Batman movie will also be auctioned off. There were only a few limited statues made that were given out to the heads of departments senior crew who worked on the production of the movie. The starting price will be £400 (500 dollars).
You can never go wrong with Beetlejuice! The famous Sandworm prop used in the 1987 movie will be auctioned to the public starting from a price of 3,000 pounds (3,800 dollars).
For the Batman Returns fans, we have a real treat! He’s auctioning three penguin rockets used in one of the last explosive scenes. Starting price for these collector’s items are 800 pounds (1,000 dollars).
There is also a pipe used by Miss Peregrine, a makeup test bust for Batman Returns‘ Catwoman and many more items for sale in the auction. For the people that are seriously interested in these memorabilia, a preview exhibition featuring the over 270 auction lots will take place between 6th – 20th September 2018 at the BFI IMAX in Waterloo, London. The live auction itself will is on Thursday, September 20th.
