‘Walking Dead’ Alum Laurie Holden Joins Legal Drama ‘Proven Innocent’
Walking Dead alum Laurie Holden is staying put on the small screen as she has just secured a recurring role on Kelsey Grammer’s upcoming legal series at Fox called Proven Innocent. Holden recently wrapped a two-season guest-starring on FX’s The Americans, which had its series finale earlier this year.
The legal drama takes place at a wrongful conviction firm and follows Under the Dome‘s Rachelle Lefevre as a fierce and fearless lawyer with a hunger for justice, who along with her team reopens investigations to exonerate the innocent that were ‘proven’ guilty.
According to Deadline, Holden will be playing “Greta Bellows, the wife of Gore Bellows (Fraiser’s Kelsey Grammer), the hard-as-nails and tough-on-crime state’s attorney. She is shrewd and sexy, a Lady Macbeth type. Smooth and driven, she’s got her eyes on the prize and wants her husband to win the Attorney General race, possibly even more than he does.”
The series, which comes from Empire co-creator Danny Strong and writer David Elliot is also set to star Russell Hornsby, Nikki M. James, Vincent Kartheiser, Riley Smith, Clare O’Connor. The series will serve as a midseason entry for Fox.
Holden is best known in the television world for her role as Andrea Harrison on AMC’s The Walking Dead, which she starred on throughout seasons 1-3. She has also appeared on FX’s The Shield as well as 2007’s The Mist. She starred in IFC Films’ Pyewacket last year as Mrs. Reyes, a mother of a teenager named Leah (played by Nicole Muñoz) looking for solace after the recent death of her father by dabbling in dark arts. She is soon set to lend her voice to the upcoming animated film Arctic Justice alongside James Franco, Jeremy Renner, and Alec Baldwin.

Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
