Watch the First Teaser for Disney’s ‘Artemis Fowl’

Over the past several weeks, Disney has been dropping trailers, and teasers like crazy, the most recent of which released early on Tuesday morning.

Disney released the first teaser for the upcoming film adaptation of Artemis Fowl. The teaser doesn’t give viewers much when it comes to plot details, but the upcoming film is based on the beloved book series by Eoin Colfer.

Directed by Kenneth Branagh, the film stars Ferdia Shaw, Lara McDonnell, Tamara Smart, Nonzo Anozie, with Josh Gad, and Judi Dench. Judy Hofflund and Branagh are producing with Angus More Gordon and Matthew Jenkins serving as executive producers. The screenplay is by Conor McPherson.

According to the trailer description, Artemis Fowl follows 12-year-old genius Artemis Fowl, a descendant of a long line of criminal masterminds, as he finds himself in a battle of strength and cunning against a powerful, hidden race of fairies who may be behind his father’s disappearance.

Check out the first teaser below.

In addition to the first teaser, Disney also dropped a new poster for the film, which you can see below.

Artemis Fowl will hit theaters on August 9, 2018.

Except for Frozen 2 and Star Wars: Episode IX, which are both over a year out, the studio has released teasers or trailers for all of its major upcoming 2019 film releases, except for Avengers 4.

Aside from Artemis Fowl, the most recent Disney teaser was for its upcoming live-action remake of the classic animated film The Lion King. The film isn’t due out until July 2019, and the teaser was released under a week ago on Thanksgiving Day.

Fans are excited to get a taste for all that Disney has in store for 2019, but we have to ask, “where is the Avengers 4 trailer!?” With all the others already released, it could be released at any moment.
