Watch the First Teaser for the ‘Beverly Hills 90210’ Reboot

It’s been 19 years since their days at West Beverly Hills High School, but the 90210 gang is ready to head back in the first teaser for the upcoming BH90210 semi-reboot.

Jason Priestley, Shannen Doherty, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green and Tori Spelling have returned to redefine the term “reboot.” According to the show’s description, BH90210 will pick up with the iconic group behind the groundbreaking 90s drama, “in an all-new event series the takes the concept of a series reboot to a whole new meta-level.  When the cast gets back together, it will come with a big twist: the seven former teen idols will be playing heightened versions of themselves in the brand-new serialized drama – with a healthy dose of irreverence – that is inspired by their real lives and relationships with each other.”

The first teaser shows the crew each getting ready for their day. Doherty is mediating. Garth is blowdrying her hair. Spelling is making her morning coffee. Priestley is shutting off his alarm clock while just rolling out of bed. Green is carefully selecting the right tie. Carteris is heading out the door and Ziering is getting into his incredibly fancy car. With just a few melodic notes, viewers (and the cast) can instantly recognize the familiar tune of the original show’s theme song playing all around them telling them that it’s time to get back together. If this teaser doesn’t set off your nostalgia alarms, nothing will. Check it out below.

Rather than heading back to West Beverly (because, let’s face it, almost 20 years has passed), the gang is getting back together to discuss a reboot. The description of the show explains further by saying, “Having gone their separate ways since the original series ended 19 years ago, Jason, Shannen, Jennie, Ian, Gabrielle, Brian, and Tori reunite when one of them suggests it’s time to get a “Beverly Hills, 90210” reboot up and running. But getting it going may make for an even more delicious soap than the reboot itself. What will happen when first loves, old romances, friends and frenemies come back together, as this iconic cast – whom the whole world watched grow up together – attempts to continue from where they left off?” It’s a brilliant twist on the standard reboot, and the perfect way to revisit the characters so many of us grew up with all these years later.

Noticeably absent is actor Luke Perry who sadly passed away earlier this year. Perry played the iconic role of the show’s bad boy Dylan McKay. He suffered a massive stroke one day after the BH90210 reboot was announced. He will surely be missed, but you can bet that the limited series will honor his legacy.

BH90210 will air in a six-episode TV event on Fox starting August 7, 2019.

What do you think of the teaser for BH90210? Are you looking forward to seeing
