While the fate of Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther is still up in the air heading into Avengers: Endgame this weekend, fans can get a glimpse at the actor in the first trailer for 21 Bridges, which teams him back up with Endgame and Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo.
21 Bridges (previously titled 17 Bridges) follows Boseman as a disgraced NYPD detective who, after being thrust into a citywide manhunt for a cop killer, is given a shot at redemption. As the night unfolds, lines become blurred on who he is pursuing, and who is in pursuit of him. When the search intensifies, extreme measures are taken to prevent the killers from escaping Manhattan as the authorities close all points of entry to prevent the criminals from leaving the island.
Moviegoers will get to see Boseman doing what we love to see him do – kicking ass and taking names…but honorably, of course.
In addition to Boseman, the film is also set to star Academy Award winner J.K. Simmons, Sienna Miller, Taylor Kitsch, and Homecoming’s Stephan James. Joining the Russo’s as producers are Boseman’s partners Logan Coles and Mike Larocca and MWM Studios. Brian Kirk (Game of Thrones, Luther) will direct a script written by Adam Mervis with production beginning in September. The film helms from STX Films (Molly’s Game).
