When is The Walking Dead On? Every Weekend in 2020 – That’s When!

2020 marks the arrival of the third series in The Walking Dead universe, titled, The Walking Dead: World Beyond. Each season of each series of The Walking Dead is comprised of 16 episodes.  So far, this has held true for both The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead.  If this holds up, World Beyond will get a 16 episode run, making a new ‘Walking Dead’ show be on your screens 48 Sundays in 2020.

The Walking Dead mid-season finale just aired two weeks ago and will return on February 23 at 9 p.m. and The Walking Dead season finale should air on or about April 5.  It is likely that World Beyond will air sometime either the same night as The Walking Dead’s season finale or the following weekend, which would be April 12.

Go for a 16 episode run of World Beyond, followed by a 16 episode run of Fear, would put The Walking Dead’s return on November 22.  That would be the latest the show has returned.

Fear The Walking Dead has struggled since its first season to gain supporters both critically and with viewers.  Season 3 was certainly its best season but other seasons have floundered and this past season had fans calling for the firing of its showrunners. The Walking Dead: World Beyond takes a completely new angle on the zombie apocalypse and will be told from the viewpoint of the first generation of survivors of the apocalypse.  The cast is much younger but it does still appear to tie into the greater universe, as there are similar images to those we’ve seen on the other shows. There are also three Rick Grimes films in various stages of writing and production.  These films are slated to arrive beginning in 2020.  However, production has not started for the first film and it is likely that the first film won’t arrive until 2021.  A standard episode is approximately 42 minutes long and production takes 10 days to film an episode.  If a Rick Grimes film is two hours long, one would think a month could encompass filming.  Since this is a feature film that will air in theaters, it is likely that the budget will be larger and filming will take longer too. In summary, ‘The Walking Deads’ will be plastered to your screen on every Sunday from here to eternity, according to AMC’s chief.  We’ll be with you, right there, on Sunday nights at 9 p.m.! 1. Well it’s just too bad the writers for the first two shows are uncreative making them unwatchable otherwise that would be spectacular.

Should hire me as a writer I’d be so creative every single episode would be edge of your seat with characters you actually care about.

  2. I’ll be watching every week. I’m very happy to know there are new things to look forward to. I’m loyally watching The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead, and I’m looking forward to the new show.

  3. I would love this sence I love all the dead walking and fear can’t wait to see where this is going

  4. I couldn’t be happier!! I love The Walking Dead and everything related to it!!!! I hate waiting during the off season. This would be amazing to have the 48 weekends!! Bring it on.!!!!!

  5. Looking forward to a long life with The Walking Dead universe!! I have been with Star Trek for over 50 years, I guess I can do the TWD for the second part of life!!! And yes, please do something with “Fear”!!! I could barely watch it last season!!! But out of loyalty I continued, barely!!! I thought Madison and Nick were bad, but this group (except for Morgan, June, and John) do nothing for me!! And the storylines are ridiculous!!!

  6. I will watch all walking dead programs love it and right now it’s boring TV on Sunday!
