‘Wonder Woman’: Gal Gadot Sending Gifts For Sunday’s Upcoming Trailer

Gal Gadot is sending out gifts to media personalities confirming that Sunday will be the day we get a Wonder Woman 1984 trailer. The new Wonder Woman film, entitled Wonder Woman 1984, is a prequel to Justice League but a sequel to Wonder Woman. Essentially it is set before Justice League but after Wonder Woman. As the title suggests, it takes place in 1984.

It’s continuing the story after World War I. After Steve died. After the defeat of Ares. And after Diana settles into life among ordinary people, which all happened in the first film. I think what they’re getting at is that Wonder Woman 1984 is going to be an entirely new story, as any sequel should be.

But, with it being set in the same world, with familiar characters, and the continuation of certain story elements, it’s incredibly difficult not to call this film a sequel. If you want to be technical, you could even call it a Sequel-Prequel.

Wonder Woman 1984 is set for release for June 5, 2020 and stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristin Wigg, Robin Wright, and Pedro Pascal. Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) squares off against the Cheetah (Kristin Wigg), a villainess who possesses superhuman strength and agility. Patty Jenkins returns to direct the sequel to the highly successful Wonder Woman franchise for DC and Warner Bros.
