‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Releases Clip Revealing Apocalypse’s Villanous Origins

Apocalypse is arguably one of the most powerful mutants in the X-Men franchise, but how much do we really know about his history? He’s said to be the world’s “First Mutant,” originally living in Egypt thousands of years ago, which we saw in the X-Men: Days of Future Past post-credits scene. Just three days after the new trailer arrived, the studio has released a new clip from this upcoming summer blockbuster in which we see what the U.S government knows about Apocalypse’s history.

In this scene, Charles Xavier and Alex Summers meet with CIA agent Moira McTaggert. She explains that after the existence of mutants was made public in 1973, various cults have popped up around the world who believe that mutants are a sign of the “Second Coming” of God.
